Nong Khai Province



The Wixky Hotel located in Sangkhom District, in Nong Khai Province in northern Thailand along the border with Laos. Nong Khai province contains the longest stretch of the Mekong River extending to some 320 km.

The Wixky Hotel property comprises the original hotel building constructed in 2017 which contains the reception, dining room and kitchen at ground floor level and ten bedrooms with ensuite bathroom on the first floor plus the newly built accommodation block at the rear of the site which contains five bedrooms at ground floor level and six bedrooms at first floor level, for a total of twenty-one [21] bedrooms, all with ensuite bathrooms plus extensive onsite facilities.

Additionally, there is a separate annex providing seven [7] further lettable bedrooms, with a final total of 28 bedrooms.

Nong Khai is a border town on the bank of the Mekong River opposite the Lao People’s Democratic Republic (Lao PDR.) and features temples, traditional northern Thai culture and cuisine, beautiful, unspoilt countryside, and a rural folk lifestyle.

One of the main events of the year centres on the Bung Fi Phaya Nak, the naga fireballs: an annual event whereby mysterious glowing balls of light rise up out of the river, believed to be sent by the naga king in honour of the Lord Buddha.

A friendship bridge links the two countries and Nong Khai is a popular stop for travellers headed to Vientiane and greater Laos. Mud Mee, a special style of silk that is popular with the Thai royal family, is produced in Nong Khai.

Some attractions traveller should not miss are Prab Hor Monument, built to honour those who died in the fight against Chinese Hor rebellion; Luang Pho Pra Sai, worshipped by many people, located on Pho Chai Road; Hat Chom Manee, the Beach on the Mekong River known as ‘Pattaya E-san’; Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge, a bridge over the Mekong River, connecting Nong Khai province with Vientiane Prefecture in Laos.

It was founded in cooperation with Australia, Laos and Thailand with a length of 1.2 km and a width 15 m.
